Domestic Violence Workshop

Outloud Productions are working with the Domestic Violence liaison officers at Essex Police.

Dark Side of the Moon went to the NSPCC National Conference at City University on 12th May 2009 and was performed for Hertfordshire Police on 17th June 2009.

Book our new domestic abuse workshop for Keystage 2.

We have produced an interactive workshop for secondary school children highlighting the effects of domestic violence, and giving young people an opportunity to talk through concerns and experiences with trained counsellors after the workshop.

The course is carefully constructed to help children to understand that they are not alone, and that there are support mechanisms in place to help them. Without structured events like this, Domestic Violence can be a secret, hidden problem that affects children for the rest of their lives.

Schools across Essex are taking part in order to achieve a social benefit.

“The productions are gripping, real life and high quality performances. I would recommend them to all schools as part of their PSHEE Curriculum. The students gain great awareness of the issues covered and it is extremely informative and interactive – Fantastic.”
Clare Horton – Head of PSHEE, The Deanes School, Thundersley, Essex. Summer 2010

"The Pupils Referral Unit (The PRU) were absolutely blown away by the effectiveness of the sessions and the way the children engaged with and were motivated by the sessions.  The PRU said that their behaviour was noticeably changed afterwards for the better and that they are still talking about it.  The PRU felt that this was an extremely worthwhile and effective way of getting an important message across. Congratulations to all of you for a job well done I think I speak for all of us when I say that we were also pleasantly surprised at how well it went!"
Julie Dennis
Southend Domestic Violence Co-ordinator

"We have had fantastic feedback from the girls, they are all talking about it constantly - best thing we’ve done"
Brenda Emptage
