Box Of Wonders production

The Box of Wonders compliments the work already being undertaken in schools and embeds the five social and emotional aspects of learning (SEAL).

The play begins with the storyteller explaining why the beautiful princess was very lonely in her castle and doesn't feel good about herself, despite others doing everything for her. Zee the magnificent wizard takes her on a journey to re-awaken her feelings, from love to jealousy, from excitement to anxiety.

The audience are taken on an emotional journey, with much child (and teacher!) participation. The explicit message of the play is "life is about caring and sharing" which the class (class 4SH, Thorpe Greeenways Junior School are pictured, right) really relate to. They especially enjoy the magic tricks, the wizard's character and the smoke effects.

The show had something for everyone, stunning scenery, music and lighting, singing and dancing, magic and a message for everyone to think about.

Outloud Productions have succeeded in reproducing an authentic theatre experience in the school hall, with a production that can be easily followed up in the classroom.
